Hello, I'm Abby!
“The first step to receiving an answer is being brave enough to ask a question.”
I’m a psychologist licensed in the state of Virginia with specialty experience in combat and sexual trauma. I started my career with an interest in working with under-served populations and ended up contracting for the Dept. of Defense before moving over to the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs. I have been in private practice since 2017 and am able to provide individual and group psychotherapy.
I have experience working with men, women, active duty, retired, civilian, seriously ill, and mostly well individuals. My clients have ranged in ages from 20 to 85. Some are students and some are advanced career professionals. Let’s talk about your needs and see if we can work well together!
I enjoy working with people on relationship challenges and working through issues so that we can all live the life we want and that’s right for us based on our individual values.
In my free time I enjoy pursuing challenges such as full distance (Ironman) triathlons and marathons. I have a couple of dogs and a cat; the little dog Lucy sometimes comes to work with me. I like hiking, spending time outdoors, and will encourage all of my clients to get outside and exercise!
